The group’s second world tour Ode To You was announced, extended over several months and across numerous cities, to fans’ overwhelmingly positive response. With over 700,000 copies sold in the first week and critically acclaimed as the best K-pop album of the year by Billboard, it granted Seventeen their first grand prize. An OdeĮlectrifying dance track HIT was the precursor to the group’s third full album, An Ode. The title track of the following mini-album, Home, swept trophies at multiple music shows, and cemented Seventeen’s status as one of the top K-pop groups of their generation. Seventeen executed yet another drastic change in concept, with the significantly darker and grittier Getting Closer. 2018 - 19Ģ018 saw the release of a special album dedicated to the fans of the group (lovingly named Carats, in correspondence to the recurring metaphor of diamonds), the emergence of a popular sub-unit consisting of the “gag-trio” of Seventeen ( BooSeokSoon), the group’s official debut in Japan, concerts galore, and a seasonally themed album series ( You Make My Day: summer, and You Made My Dawn: winter). Their second full album Teen, Age, which had tracks performed by unique, mixed units, was wildly successful. In 2017, Seventeen kicked off their first world tour Diamond Edge, with stops across Asia and North America. The group then experimented with a sentimental and mature EDM track ( Don’t Wanna Cry), which was a sharp contrast to their previously fresh, youthful image, and remains, to this day, their most watched music video. This was later released as a repackage, with the sleeper hit of a title track, Very Nice, which is still considered quintessential Seventeen. Seventeen received their first win on a music show with Pretty U, the lead single of their first full-length studio album, Love & Letter. Their first two extended plays ( 17 Carat and Boys Be) were received extremely well, and the group went on to win several rookie awards at the end of the year. Following a long period of struggle and changes in the original line-up, the 13 final members of the group appeared in the reality show Seventeen Project: Big Debut Plan, which concluded with their debut showcase on May 26, 2015, with the title track Adore U. Starting from 2013, Seventeen appeared in regular live broadcasts of a show called Seventeen TV, where trainees were introduced and shown practicing performances. The members in this unit are Woozi (unit leader and producer), Jeonghan, Joshua, DK and Seungkwan. Vocal Unit - in charge of vocals within the group.
